How to Make a Website for Your Business: Step by Step

A practical step by step guide to getting a website for your business: planning, domain, platform, content, SEO, launch and getting found on Google.

How to Make a Website for Your Business: Step by Step

Short answer: plan what the site must do, get a domain, choose how it will be built, write clear content, add contact options and basic SEO, then launch and connect it to Google. Each step is simple; doing them in the right order is what matters.

Step 1: Decide the goal

Calls, bookings, quote requests or sales? Every page should push towards that action.

Step 2: Get a domain name

Short, easy to spell and ideally including your business name.

Step 3: Choose how to build it

DIY builder, WordPress, or a done-for-you service. Be honest about your time and skills.

Step 4: Plan your pages

Home, services, about, contact, and optionally pricing, reviews and FAQs.

Skip steps 3 to 8, we do them for you.

Step 5: Write clear content

Say what you do, where, for whom, and why choose you. Use the words customers search for.

Step 6: Add photos and proof

Real photos, reviews and examples of work build trust.

Step 7: Add contact options

Click-to-call, WhatsApp, a short form and a map.

Step 8: Set up SEO basics

Titles, descriptions, headings, structured data, a sitemap and fast loading.

Step 9: Launch and connect to Google

Verify Search Console, submit your sitemap and link your Google Business Profile.

The bottom line

Building a business website is a series of simple steps. Follow them in order, keep it clear and fast, and you will have a site that brings in enquiries.
