Website for Photographers: Portfolio Sites That Get Bookings

How photographers can build a website that books clients: portfolio, packages, speed, SEO and enquiry forms.

Website for Photographers: Portfolio Sites That Get Bookings

Short answer: a photographer's website is the portfolio clients judge you on. Done well, it shows your best work, explains packages and makes enquiring easy, while still loading fast on mobile.

What customers search for

People looking for photographers usually search with a service and a place. Typical searches include:

  • wedding photographer [town]
  • family photographer near me
  • headshot photographer [town]
  • product photographer [town]
  • event photographer [town]

A website with a page for each of these services gives Google a clear match for each search, on top of your Google Business Profile.

What your website should include

  1. A curated portfolio by category.
  2. Packages and starting prices.
  3. About you and your style.
  4. Testimonials.
  5. Availability and enquiry form.
  6. FAQs about delivery and usage rights.
  7. Blog posts of real shoots.

Trust signals that win jobs

  • Real client reviews.
  • Featured publications.
  • Clear contracts and delivery times.
  • Insurance where relevant.

Local SEO tips

  • List the towns and neighbourhoods you cover.
  • Keep your name, address and phone identical on your site and Google profile.
  • Ask for a Google review after every job and reply to each one.
  • Make sure the site loads fast on mobile, where most searches happen.

One tip most photographers miss

Compress your images. Large photo files are the main reason portfolio sites are slow, and slow sites lose enquiries and rankings. Modern formats like WebP keep quality while cutting file size.

The bottom line

A clear, fast website with services, prices, proof and one-tap contact turns local searches into booked jobs. It does not need to be big, just focused.
